Khalil Shakir (BUF), ADP 106, WR53
When Shakir got more work at the end of last season for Buffalo, he showed flashes of the player he can become. He caught all 13 of his targets for 189 yards over his last 3 games. And while a lot of his volume metrics left something to be desired, he was as efficient as a Rolex, ranking number 1 in the NFL in yards per target and 2nd in fantasy points per target. His targets also led to a 133.6 QB rating, which was the best in the NFL. With Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs out of town, Shakir can take advantage of the WR shakeup. So, draft away.
Dontayvion Wicks (GB), ADP 113.2 WR55
I’ve been vocal about how I think Christian Watson is the true WR1 for Green Bay. But, the injury concerns remain in place. And Wicks was a decent contributor when Watson was out last season. After Week 10, he had finishes as the PPR WR27, WR20, and WR5. His yards per route run and yards per reception both ranked inside the top-25. And he was credited with the 10th-best route win rate. The Packers’ passing game is still coming into focus with all the youth. But if Wicks can carve out a role for himself, he’ll be worth the pick.
Joshua Palmer (LAC), ADP 102.4 WR52
Palmer has been the victim of a crowded WR room up to this point in his career. Obviously, the departures of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams clear a path to fantasy relevance for Palmer, but how open will that path be? As of now, he projects to be the team’s WR1, ahead of sophomore Quentin Johnston and rookie Ladd McConkey. And when Williams was out last season, Palmer posted a respectable 10.6 fantasy points per game. So, he’s a perfect pick to fatten up your WR depth.
Courtland Sutton (DEN), ADP 96, WR50
With Jerry Jeudy gone to Carolina, Sutton takes the reins as the clear WR1 for Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos. Nix is an accurate passer, especially within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage. That’s where Sutton does a lot of his work. And yes, a lot of his fantasy numbers were inflated by his 10 touchdowns last season. That’s unlikely to happen again. However, he may not need that much with the new stability at the QB position. That pass he caught from Nix in the red zone of Preseason Game 2 was nice. It could be a glimpse of things to come.
