Khalil Herbert (CHI), ADP 171.5, RB55
Herbert was stuck in a rotating committee last year, and looks to be stuck in one again this season. But, Herbert was very good when the Bears gave him ample opportunity last season. He was an RB1 in 3 of the 4 games he had at least 16 carries. Plus, his explosiveness metrics can’t be ignored. Last year, he ranked 21st in juke rate, 12th in breakaway run rate, and 19th in yards per touch. It looks like for now, D’Andre Swift will lead the Bears’ backfield. But, I see Herbert as a solid stash who will provide value if Swift flames out.
James Conner (ARI), ADP 76.2, RB19
Conner’s history tells us that he will perform better on a per-game basis than the RB19. But, his injury risk is baked into his ADP. The Cardinals gave him enough work last season that he ranked 9th in opportunity share and was 6th in total rushing yards despite missing 4 games. Conner also hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down in terms of elusiveness. He remains an excellent tackle-breaker. So, keep that in mind when building your roster at the position.
Devin Singletary (NYG), ADP 111.5, RB34
Singletary isn’t the sexiest pick, and it doesn’t help that he was just named the “worst” starting RB in the league by Sports Illustrated. But, I think drafters can buy the dip here. First of all, the Giants intend to give him the bulk of the work that Saquon Barkley left behind. That was the number 2 opportunity share. He also wasn’t bad last season for the Texans, with 5 RB1 or RB2 finishes after Week 10. So, I expect him to outperform expectations this season.
Rhamondre Stevenson (NE), ADP 82.8, RB21
Rhamondre’s efficiency numbers suffered last year as he battled a nagging ankle injury and played in a poor offense. One of those issues looks to be fixed. Rhamondre’s looked healthy in camp and preseason action, with a lot of his old pop returning to his game. The Patriots should also lean on him this season because their WR room is lackluster. Ultimately, Rhamondre could be one of the lone bright spots for this offense in 2024.
Zamir White (LV), ADP 88.5, RB24
White’s nuclear end of the regular season is a sign of things to come. From Week 15 to the end of the season, White averaged 23.3 touches and 113 yards from scrimmage per game. The Raiders clearly like him, as the other guys on the roster haven’t been able to sustain starting performances over their careers. So, ultimately, White’s volume should allow him to outperform his current ADP.
