#5: RB - Josh Jacobs (GB)

It became clear last week that the Packers want to lean on Jacobs to get the offense going, and it worked. He took his 16 carries for 84 efficient yards, including a nice 32-yard rumble. Since Jordan Love is out with injury, they may run more. AND it should be part of their game plan: the Colts allowed the 4th-most fantasy points per game to the position a year ago.

#4: WR - Brian Thomas Jr. (JAX)

Evan Engram, Christian Kirk, and Travis Etienne ALL took a backseat in receptions to Thomas in the Week 1 loss to Miami. Trevor Lawrence spread the ball around, so Thomas actually tied for the team lead in targets with Engram and Kirk, but anyone waiting on some production to insert him into their starting lineup can pull the trigger now.

#3: RB - Najee Harris (PIT)

I canā€™t believe Iā€™m going here, but the numbers donā€™t lie. Harris was given 20 carries in Week 1 compared to Jaylen Warrenā€™s 2. They were both targeted twice. Itā€™s possible that Warrenā€™s injury had something to do with it, but itā€™s just as possible that he isnā€™t going to eat into Najeeā€™s numbers the way many of us thought over the summer. The Broncos allowed the 2nd-most fantasy points per game to running backs last season, and the Steelersā€™ passing game isnā€™t turning many heads right now. Najeeā€™s a safe play.

#2: QB - Jayden Daniels (WAS)

Daniels looks every bit the game-changer expected from the second overall draft pick. Those 88 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns also supported a nice fantasy score, good enough for QB2 on the week. It may be early, and Iā€™m not overreacting to a single game, but the Giants are currently in a crisis with Daniel Jones and should provide another startable matchup for Daniels.

#5: QB - Sam Darnold (MIN)

Save for the interception, Darnold played well last weekend. But, that was against the Giants, who are starting to look like one of the leagueā€™s worst teams. The 49ersā€™ defense is much better than that, with a good pass rush and an offense that will keep the ball away from the Vikings. The Giants matchup looks like foolā€™s gold.

#4: TE - Cade Otton (TB)

Someone needs to print Cade Otton a t-shirt that says ā€œI ran 100% of the routes and all I got were these 2 lousy targetsā€. As good as Baker Mayfield and the offense looked against the Commanders, Otton just couldnā€™t find his way into that production. Sit him until he bounces back.

#3: RB - Javonte Williams (DEN)

What a disappointing week for Javonte. Instead of finally emerging as the lead back for the Broncos, it looks as though Jaleel McLaughlin will spoil the surprise. McLaughlin had 10 carries to Javonteā€™s 8 ā€” although neither back was efficient ā€” and had 5 targets to Javonteā€™s 2. This week, he plays the Steelers, who were relatively strong against fantasy RBs last season. So, Javonte is a huge risk.

#2: WR - Amari Cooper (CLE)

Leading the team in targets (9) doesnā€™t count for much when your QB barely completes 50% of his passes and your team canā€™t score. The Jaguarsā€™ defense may not be suffocating like the Cowboysā€™ unit, but as long as Cooper is tied to Deshaun Watson I canā€™t bring myself to trust him.
