#5: QB - Derek Carr (NO)

This may come off as an overreaction to a solid game against an inferior opponent, but Carr — who was middle of the pack in accuracy and completion percentage last season — hit on 19 of his 23 attempts for 200 yards and 3 touchdowns. Eight different Saints players caught passes from Carr, and he completed a beautiful 59-yard pass to Rashid Shaheed. He won’t get to play the Panthers every week, but Carr is a veteran, and if he’s feeling comfortable, he can be a viable fantasy play with this set of weapons.

#4: RB - J.K. Dobbins (LAC)

The Chargers’ running game has been shrouded in mystery this summer after the departure of Austin Ekeler. But, Dobbins may have just provided some clarity. He actually only had 10 carries to Gus Edwards’ 11, but he out-rushed his teammate 135 yards to 26. Those stats were highlighted by runs of 61 and 46 yards. The L.A. coaching staff will probably continue to feed him if he’s running like that.

#3: WR - Wan’Dale Robinson (NYG)

It looked as though the Giants drafted Malik Nabers to handle the bulk of the targets this season, but in Week 1 that wasn’t exactly the case. Robinson led the team in targets with 12 to Nabers’ 7. While it’s a small sample size, and he did get most of his targets close to the line of scrimmage, there should be weeks when that kind of production can be exploited in certain matchups.

#2: RB - Tank Bigsby (JAX)

One of the biggest surprises of opening weekend was Bigsby’s usage bump. He had the same amount of carries as Travis Etienne (12 each). But, Bigsby looked like the better runner. He averaged 6.1 yards per carry to ETN’s 3.4, and added a nice 26 yarder. These numbers should create some anxiety in Etienne’s fantasy owners. Bigsby needs to be owned now.
