#6: Jaxon Smith-Njigba is Seattle’s top fantasy WR

With Tyler Lockett about to turn 32-years-old, JSN should already have a clear path to being his team’s 2nd pass-catching option. But, he can surpass DK Metcalf this season too. JSN is a more precise route runner than Metcalf, and in 2023, he ranked 6th in target separation where Metcalf ranked 78th. You don’t have to squint too hard to see this happening.

#5: Terry McLaurin has his first WR1 season

Terry’s current best fantasy finish in PPR formats? 14th, back in 2021 when his QBs were Taylor Heinicke and Carson Wentz. Now that he’s catching passes from Jayden Daniels, who threw for 40 touchdowns last season, Terry should get more quality targets down the field. Not to mention he no longer has to share opportunity with Jahan Dotson. I think Terry breaks into the top-12 this year.

#4: Drake Maye is a fantasy starter by the season’s end

New England’s offense is in rough shape right now. The offensive line is a mess, there isn’t a single receiver a causal fan could name, and their defensive-minded head coach is in his first season at the helm. The Patriots are taking it slow with Maye, opting to go with Jacoby Brissett to start the year. But, Maye has vastly outperformed Brissett in the team’s preseason games. And if they can get their blocking scheme right, it’s only a matter of time before he takes over under center. He’ll start to gain momentum as a viable fantasy starter by the playoffs.

#3: Anthony Richardson will NOT be a top QB

Since graduating from high school, Richardson has started just 13 college games and 4 professional games. I know his ability to make plays with his legs is legitimate. But his cost as the QB5 has baffled me all summer. The concerns about his accuracy remain in place, and the NFL has a way of catching up to a guy once the film gets out on him. I’m not saying Richardson won’t be a great player in the long run, I’m just saying it won’t be this season.

#2: Breece Hall will gain 2,000 scrimmage yards

Breece gained 1,585 yards on just under 300 touches last season as the workhorse back for the Jets. While I think the volume will remain similar, the Jets have revamped their offensive line to a degree that Breece can improve on his 11th-ranked yards per touch numbers. The return of Aaron Rodgers should, in theory, raise the offense too. So, Breece is up for a monster year.
