James Cook (BUF), ADP 55, RB13
After Joe Brady took over the play calling duties in Buffalo, Cook took on a higher share of the teamās carries. It allowed him to finish the season 10th overall in that metric. If that distribution holds, he should finish even higher this year.
But, thatās not all. With all the turnover in the teamās WR room, Cook should also see an uptick in targets, which would help him improve on his 8th-most receiving yards. The big downside of Cookās outlook comes with the touchdown equity. He was already lacking in goal-line carries, and Josh Allenās presence will continue to cap that.
Still, if he does end up with more opportunities in his opponentsā territory, Cook has a real shot to progress up the ranks this season.
Michael Pittman (IND), ADP 35, WR25
Pittmanās opportunity shares were legitimate last year as he endured his Gardner Minshew season:
4th in receptions (109)
4th in target share (30.5%)
9th in red zone targets (19)
10th in yards after the catch (513)
So, the chances are elite. The athleticism is elite. But, the QB play wasā¦ not. The inefficient passing led to just 4 Pittman touchdowns for the 2nd year in a row. With the return of Anthony Richardson, that number could rise, elevating Pittman into the top echelon of WRs.
Kyler Murray (ARI), ADP 74.1, QB7
Murray already has two elite seasons in fantasy points per game:
2020: 24.4 (3rd)
2021: 22.2 (4th)
Both years were anchored by a natural rushing ability thatās been hampered the last 2 years by a torn-up knee. But, all signs are pointing to the knee being healed up. Murrayās lateral movement has returned in team workouts. Thereās also a lot of buzz about the immediate chemistry heās building with Marvin Harrison Jr.
So, pending health, Murray looks like a draft bargain at worst, and a potential top QB at best. Iāll chase that ceiling this year.
Jake Ferguson (DAL), ADP 84.8, TE9
Ferguson broke out big last year with a steady stream of targets and the most red zone targets at the position (25). Itās clear that he and Dak Prescott, who led the NFL in touchdown passes, have a lot of trust in one another.
But, there are factors pointing to another year of growth for Ferguson. Tony Pollard and his 67 targets are gone.
he could see even more work this year with his team losing its RB1 and its superstar WR gearing up to hold out. Don't sleep on Jake Ferguson.
