🚨 5 RBs to AVOID at all Costs

Don't draft these backs if you want to win

Welcome Back to Drop Army Fantasy!

Today’s list is simple: running backs I’m not drafting. These players offer too much risk, too low of a floor, are playing in weak offensive situations, or a combination of all three.

Today in 5 minutes or less, you’ll learn:

  • 5 RBs to avoid in every draft this year 🛑

Brian Robinson Jr. (WAS), ADP 85.5, RB30

Brian Robinson had 207 touches out of the Commanders’ backfield, BUT over the final 8 games, he sported one of the worst success rates in the NFL and only scored 2 touchdowns. And now he’s another year deep with Kliff Kingsbury — a pass-heavy OC whose last five NFL offenses ranked bottom-5 in RB rush attempts per game.

So between declining efficiency, low pass-game usage, and a coordinator who doesn’t feature his backs… not to mention a still-serviceable Austin Ekeler… RB30 is a TRAP.

Rico Dowdle (CAR), ADP 174.8, RB53

Rico Dowdle is being drafted like a starter in Carolina, BUT according to Panthers coaches, Chuba Hubbard is expected to hang on to the lion’s share of the touches out of that backfield. Not to mention that Carolina was 31st in plays per game last year — and 3rd-worst in yards per drive over the final 8 weeks.

So if you’re drafting Dowdle hoping for volume, you’re ignoring two things: he might not win the job… and this offense might not score.

Breece Hall (NYJ), ADP 30.5, RB13

Breece Hall ranked 3rd in targets and 4th in receptions a year after leading the league in both categories. We also all know about his highlight reel breakaway runs and big plays. But this year, he’s playing with Justin Fields, who isn’t known for being a dump-off QB, and will also steal goal line work.

So, unless something changes about the Jets’ plans to give more work to Braelon Allen, Hall is a fade for me.

Tyrone Tracy Jr. (NYG), ADP 96.5, RB31

Tyrone Tracy has the raw explosiveness you want in a late-round flyer. BUT this Giants offense ranks DEAD LAST in PFF’s projected run-blocking grades, and he’s still fighting for snaps behind a crowded RB room in early camp. He also enters a scheme run by Mike Kafka — whose offenses have ranked bottom-6 in rushing rate two years straight.

So even if Tracy flashes, the combination of a weak o-line and limited volume upside makes RB31 a MASSIVE projection leap.
