MOST UNDERVALUED: Aaron Jones, ADP 67.8
Jones has a new team, and heās coming off a season where his per-game fantasy production dropped to its lowest point since 2017. Itās no wonder heās slipping in drafts too. But, when Jones was healthy at the end of last season he put together some good performances. He had at least 116 scrimmage yards in 5 straight games including the playoffs. The Vikings also brought him in to bring some stability to the position in front of Ty Chandler, who was uneven last season. So, Jones is a pick Iām standing behind at ADP.
MOST OVERVALUED: Josh Jacobs, ADP 49.5
Jacobs is in Green Bay to replace Jones, but I feel his struggles last year wonāt be as easily reversed. Just 5 of his 12 healthy games ended in an RB1 fantasy score. He ranked 58th in fantasy points per opportunity (0.63). And, he had the lowest total yardage output of his career. It didnāt help that his replacement at the end of the season showed he could produce at a better rate. Plus, reports out of Packers camp are sounding favorable for rookie MarShawn Lloyd. So Iām fading Jacobs until further notice.
RISKIEST PICK AT ADP: Derrick Henry, ADP 40.0
This might be more of a gut feeling on my part, but Henry is now 30 years old and weighs 250 pounds. Heās had 690 touches over the last 2 seasons and his style makes him one of the more physical runners in the league. That frame has to break down at some point. So I think heās a dice roll to trust as a solid RB1 again.
DO NOT DRAFT: Joe Mixon, ADP 53
Yes, Mixon was PPR RB6 last season, ranking 9th in receptions and 12th in receiving yards. But, his rushing efficiency numbers dropped. He barely averaged 4 yards per carry. And Houstonās top 2 RBs combined didnāt see the amount of targets that Mixon had in Cincinnati. Combine all that with the fact that Dameon Pierce has looked good in summer workouts and he had 158 touches last year, and Iām worried about Mixon as a fantasy asset this season.
LEAGUE WINNER: Zamir White, ADP 90.8
Zamir White breathed new life into the Raidersā backfield at the end of last season. He was a top-20 fantasy back every week from Week 15 on. The Raiders were feeding him too. He had touches of 20, 22, 25, and 26 in those last 4 games. His current backups, Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah, donāt really scare me in terms of touch competition. So, Iām rolling with White as a big-time pickup this year in the 8th round.
SLEEPER: Tyjae Spears, ADP 105.5
Spears looked like a whole lot more than a sleeper when we found out Henry was leaving the Titans. Now with Tony Pollard in town, the waters are a little muddier. But, even playing with Henry, Spears racked up 4 weeks as a top-16 back. He finished 10th at the position in targets and was 13th in fantasy points per opportunity. So with Pollard disappointing in many ways last season, Spears could be poised for another step.
DEEP SLEEPER: Kimani Vidal, ADP 169.8
Vidal is a rookie who currently sits behind J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards on the Chargersā depth chart. But, those guys have both had trouble staying on the field in their careers. Theyāve each flashed a lot of talent, but have struggled with inconsistency too. We know Jim Harbaugh will want to run the football. Vidalās 33 college touchdowns may fit right into that scheme. So, if youāre looking for a lottery ticket late, consider him.
BEST OVERALL (NON-CMC DIVISION): Bijan Robinson, ADP 6.8
Bijan only finished 17th in points per game in 2023, but all signs point to the training wheels coming off in ā24. Bijan had just 44% of his teamās rushing attempts and finished 32nd in the NFL in red zone touches. It was frustrating to see a guy with so much talent kept on so short a leash. Itās been well-published that the new coaching staff is going to feed him. So, if you manage to draft Bijan, it should be all systems go.
BEST OVERALL: Christian McCaffrey, ADP 1.4
