STUD QB: Baker Mayfield (TB)

The Baker was ballin’ on Sunday, throwing for 381 yards and 4 TDs — both season highs — in the win over the Packers. Now that the Bucs are on a 3-game winning streak, they’ve taken 1st place in the NFC South on the merit of a tiebreaker advantage over the Saints.

Up next is a tough contest with the Jaguars, followed by a divisional showdown with the Saints. If Baker continues to sling it like this, he’ll have his team in a good position to make the postseason.

DUD QB: Dak Prescott (DAL)

Just when we thought Dak was in the conversation for league MVP, his Cowboys go out and get stomped by Buffalo, 31-10. Dak himself threw for just 134 yards with no TDs, took 4 sacks, and managed just 7.1 fantasy points.

We expect more from our overall fantasy QB3.

STUD RB: James Cook (BUF)

With all due respect to Christian McCaffrey and his 41 PPR points, I’m going with Cook this week because it was a career day for the 2nd year RB.

He averaged 7.1 yards per carry on his way to 179 rushing yards, and added another 42 on 2 receptions. He found the end zone twice and boosted his team in beating the Cowboys. Cook is a big reason why Buffalo fans are feeling a lot better about their team’s prospects going into the final weeks of the regular season.

The advanced rushing stats from Fantasy Life don’t lie, and according to them Cook is on the rise. He’s tied for the league lead in yards after contact per attempt, along with a ton of other strong metrics.

DUD RB: Breece Hall (NYJ)

Game flow wasn’t kind this week as the Dolphins totally shut down the Jets’ hapless offense. As a result Breece was only able to squeak out 2.8 PPR points. Not great for the first week of the fantasy playoffs.

STUD WR: Jordan Addison (MIN)

Despite a tough ending for the Vikings, Addison was money in Saturday’s loss to Cincinnati. He caught all 6 of his targets for 111 yards, which was his 2nd-highest total of the season, and scored 2 TDs.

The Vikings continue to play competitively despite all the injuries. Fans should feel good about the future with a guy like Addison still in the development phase.

DUD WR: Zay Flowers (BAL)

It seemed like Flowers was on an upward trajectory after 2 straight weeks breaking the 20-point barrier in fantasy football, but he crashed back down to earth in Jacksonville on Sunday. He earned just 2 targets after seeing 8 and 10 over the last 2 weeks, and was able to muster just 7 yards.

Flowers is a strong dynasty asset, but he’s proving to be hit-or-miss down the stretch for 2023.

STUD TE: Sam LaPorta (DET)

LaPorta has played his way into fantasy football stardom and he’s now one of the biggest pieces of the Lions’ strong offensive attack. He caught 3 of Jared Goff’s 5 TDs and Detroit rolled Denver on Saturday as a result.

The rookie now stands as the PPR TE3 overall, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

DUD TE: Evan Engram (JAX)

After 2 consecutive weeks of top-3 performances, Engram was held in check by the Ravens in Week 15. He gained just 28 receiving yards.

Engram is still the overall TE5 in PPR formats, and he has a few vulnerable defenses on deck with Tampa Bay and Carolina. So if fantasy managers are still alive in the playoffs, I still think he’s a usable asset.

#5: RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (KC)

I honestly thought Jerick McKinnon would be the preferred fantasy football back with Isiah Pacheco out, but it was CEH that did the most damage out of the Chiefs’s backfield in Week 15.

Clyde was inefficient on the ground, but still got 17 touches to McKinnon’s 7, and even caught a reception TD in the win against New England on Sunday. While the word is that Pacheco could return in Week 16, CEH is a good option to have in your back pocket as the Chiefs prepare for some soft defenses.

#4: WR Joshua Palmer (LAC)

4 targets after an extended absence is hardly eye-popping, but Palmer did some damage with 113 yards and a TD last Thursday night despite his team taking a walloping.

The Chargers may be a mess right now, but Palmer is their number 1 receiver if Keenan Allen remains sidelined. He’s someone you could consider playing in your flex spot if you need the help.

#3: QB Derek Carr (NO)

Is it a sexy pickup? Not by long shot. But at this point in the season they rarely are.

Carr was strong in Week 15, throwing 3 TDs in the victory over the Giants to keep pace with the Bucs in the NFC South. That was despite missing Chris Olave. Carr’s final 3 opponents are the Rams, Buccaneers, and Falcons (if your league plays in Week 18). All of those teams are top-3rd in terms of favorable matchups for opposing QBs, according to Fantasy Life’s Defense vs. Position tool.

#2: TE Tucker Kraft (GB)

He’s a bit TD-dependent, but Kraft now has 2 TDs in his last 4 games and he’s been the TE12 or better in 3 of the last 4 (he was TE20 in the 4th). He’s also run routes on over 90% of Packers passing plays over the last 2 weeks with 13% of the team’s air yards.

You’re not going to find a whole lot of TE value at this point in the season, but if Kraft is available in your league, you need to make it happen immediately.
