Week 9 Trades
Here are 5 players that look like great buys going into Week 9 … in two minutes or less.
|
QB: Dak Prescott (DAL)
Dak Prescott is exactly the kind of player you want to trade for, not away, right now. He just had one of those blow-up losses against Denver where nothing worked (188 yards, 2 picks, and pulled late), but that came against a defense that’s turning into a real problem for everyone. Before that dud, Prescott was the QB2 in fantasy through seven weeks, throwing 13 touchdowns over a four-game tear while the Cowboys’ offense was hanging 30+ points like clockwork. So when people panic off one bad box score, that’s when you step in, buy the dip, and ride the QB1 the rest of the way.
RB: Ashton Jeanty (LV)
Jeanty has logged a top-10 opportunity share on the season and has already flashed massive upside with multiple 100-yard performances and five total touchdowns through six starts. But the Raiders’ offense has completely cratered lately, including a brutal 31-0 loss to Kansas City Chiefs, and that’s buried his recent box scores. But a sneaky fact is that Vegas actually has an easy remaining strength of schedule for RBs. So if Las Vegas can stabilize even slightly, you’re getting a young workhorse with elite draft capital and locked-in volume at a rare discount.
WR: Courtland Sutton (DEN)
Trade for Courtland Sutton, Denver’s top read, after a 4-for-67 line on six targets vs. Dallas and 6-for-87 on ten looks the week prior. But the box score undersells him: a Week 8 TD was wiped out by OPI and another would-be score slipped through, and that Week 2 blip let Troy Franklin grab headlines. So you’re buying a receiver Bo Nix trusts in high-leverage moments who’s cleared 80 yards in three of his last four while commanding Denver’s air yards, and he’s riding an offense coming off a Cowboys rout and a wild fourth-quarter win over the Giants.
WR: Ladd McConkey (LAC)
Ladd McConkey is regaining his form, and people are starting to notice. He’s gone over 65 yards in three straight games and has scored in three of his last four, capped by an 88-yard, 1-TD night against Minnesota. But early-season frustration has made some managers think of him as a secondary option behind Keenan Allen and Quentin Johnston, which is creating a soft trade window. He’s currently commanding a big route share in Justin Herbert’s offense and is locked in as a WR2 heading into Week 9, so buying now could land you a surging player at a discount.
TE: Harold Fannin Jr. (CLE)
Harold Fannin Jr. has been the Browns’ most consistent pass-catching threat all year, but because he plays tight end on a struggling offense, his price still hasn’t caught up to his impact. Over the past three games alone, he’s seen steady target volume and delivered multiple productive outings, including 6 catches for 62 yards and a touchdown against New England. So while most managers are still sleeping on him (and he’s still out there in nearly half of leagues), this is your chance to buy low on a breakout weapon before everyone else catches up.
So that’s the list. 5 players to pitch a deal for in the Week 9 trade market… as promised, in two minutes or less.
