RB: Breece Hall (NYJ)

Breece Hall is coming off a monster performance: 133 yards on the ground, two rushing scores, and even a trick-play touchdown pass, and that makes him a sell-high. But that spike week masked just how erratic his production has been all season, tied to an offense that’s been among the worst in football and crumbles when playing from behind. He hadn’t found the end zone once before Week 8, and after the bye he’s staring down brutal matchups against elite run defenses that have historically shut him down. So if someone in your league is chasing last week’s explosion, this is the time to cash out before those lows hit again.

RB: Tony Pollard (TEN)

Pollard is still viewed as the “lead back” in Tennessee, but the last few weeks have shown just how shaky that title really is. His touches have been trending down as Tyjae Spears earns more work, and Pollard’s rushing efficiency has cratered; he posted just 44 yards on 11 carries in Week 8 after averaging barely over 3 yards per carry the two weeks prior. This comes in the context of a Titans offense that’s unraveling fast, dropping three straight and failing to generate consistent scoring chances. So if there’s still someone in your league who believes in the “starter” label, this is your window to sell before the bottom fully drops out.

WR: Khalil Shakir (BUF)

Shakir is the kind of player people get sucked into holding. After all, he’s attached to Josh Allen and sitting in that WR1 chair on paper. But when you look closer, it’s mostly empty volume. Even his Week 8 “breakout” came on short screens and one busted play, not consistent downfield work, and he’s still sitting on a volatile target share week to week. The Bills’ offense has been shaky against good defenses and could easily shift again if they bring in more help. So if someone in your league wants to pay up for “Josh Allen’s WR1,” you sell high right now before that mirage fades.

WR: Jayden Higgins (HOU)

Jayden Higgins has had a few flashes lately, including leading the Texans in snaps last week and catching a short touchdown over the middle, which might make him look like a steady option. But his role is only inflated because Nico Collins and Christian Kirk have been sidelined, and the moment those two are back, the passing volume simply won’t sustain Higgins as more than a low-end depth piece. So if someone in your league is buying into the recent box scores, this is the time to cash out before he fades right back to the margins of this offense.

TE: David Njoku (CLE)

Njoku has name value at tight end, but the reality is his role just isn’t what it used to be. His target share has steadily narrowed as Harold Fannin has carved out a bigger slice of the passing game, and that showed again in Week 8, even when Njoku found the end zone, his snap and route volume remained limited coming off injury. The Browns’ offense has also shifted to funnel more looks elsewhere, making it harder for Njoku to return to his peak usage. So if you can still sell him on name recognition and that touchdown, this is the window to cash out before the volume dip shows up fully in the box scores.

So that’s the list. 5 players to unload to your league mates before Week 9 … as promised, in two minutes or less.
