Week 7 Trade-Aways
Here are 5 players that you should be selling ahead of Week 7 … in two minutes or less.
|
QB: Aaron Rodgers (PIT)
Rodgers just delivered one of his better outings of the year, pushing the ball downfield efficiently and putting up solid numbers against Cleveland. But this is exactly the kind of moment where name value and one good game can mask the real story. He’s 41, offers zero rushing upside, and is tied to a low-volume offense built to grind clock, not inflate box scores. So if you can cash out on that vintage shine now, you’re selling at the right time before the inconsistency that’s already shown up this season comes right back.
RB: Alvin Kamara (NO)
Kamara is still getting passing game work, but the efficiency is starting to dip. He’s averaging barely over 3 yards per carry the last two weeks, and Kendre Miller’s touch count keeps climbing, eating into his early-down role. But while his receiving kept him afloat against New England, he hasn’t posted a 100-yard game all season, and this offense has looked stuck in the mud more weeks than not. So if you can still sell on name value and volume perception before the cliff really hits, now’s the window.
WR: George Pickens (DAL)
George Pickens has been red hot since stepping into a featured role, stacking five straight games with a touchdown and back-to-back 100+ yard outings while serving as Dak Prescott’s go-to deep threat. But this surge has come with CeeDee Lamb sidelined. Pickens has soaked up a massive chunk of the downfield work in that window, hitting his ceiling at the perfect time. So with Lamb due back soon and his target share set to shrink, this is the moment to cash out on a player who’s likely at peak trade value.
WR: Tee Higgins (CIN)
Tee Higgins is still being treated like a top-20 wideout, but his recent production has looked a lot more like a shaky WR3. He’s failed to top 65 yards in any game this season and has only found the end zone twice, even with steady volume. The Bengals’ offense has completely lost its ceiling with Joe Burrow out, and while Flacco gives Higgins a bit of a boost, I’m not totally sold. This unit has now lost four straight and looks capped against tougher defenses down the stretch. So if someone in your league still values him by name, this is a perfect time to cash out before the reality of a bottom-tier passing attack fully sinks in.
TE: Travis Kelce (KC)
Kelce is still putting up solid fantasy lines, but a peek down the road is cause for concern. He’s caught at least 5 passes in every game this year, but his yardage ceiling has clearly dipped and he hasn’t had that dominant takeover moment yet. But a big shift is coming: Rashee Rice returns in Week 7, and Kelce’s target rate dropped from 24% to just 16% when Rice was on the field last year. So while he’ll keep being serviceable, his volume could take a real hit just as the offense gets crowded again. This is the perfect time to sell on the celebrity value to the Swiftie in your league.
So that’s the list. 5 players to pitch a deal for in the Week 7 trade market… as promised, in two minutes or less.
