START: James Cook (BUF)
This one might seem fairly obvious, but Cook has had a few quiet weeks sprinkled throughout the season despite being a top-12 player in total. Most recently, Cook only scored 4.9 PPR points against the Rams in Week 15 even though the team scored 42 points. He bounced back against Detroit and shouldn’t have any issues against New England, who just got completely gashed by James Conner.
SIT: Isiah Pacheco (KC)
I may have been wrong about Pacheco’s readiness this weekend. He split carries evenly with Kareem Hunt, and was by far the less efficient back, averaging just 2.5 yards per carry against a tough Browns front. It doesn’t get much easier this weekend, because the Texans allow the 4th-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing backfields. Hang on to Pacheco, but pick your spots as the playoffs continue.
START: Sincere McCormick (LV)
McCormick has assumed lead duties for the Raiders, relegating his teammates to backup volume. With Jacksonville heading to the desert in Week 16, there’s no reason to think McCormick won’t produce. The Jags have allowed the 3rd-most fantasy points to opposing RBs on the season.
SIT: Brian Robinson Jr. (WAS)
Despite taking 21 carries against a middling Saints defense, Robinson struggled, racking up a disappointing 65 yards on the ground. A touchdown in his last Philadelphia matchup saved his fantasy day. But it won’t be easy against that defense, who allow the 2nd-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing backs. So, consider leaving BRob on the bench.
START: Chuba Hubbard (CAR)
Hubbard has a solid lock on the Panthers backfield work, especially since Jonathon Brooks is no longer in the picture. Remarkably, Hubbard is the PPR RB14 on the season and has a really great shot to score points against the Cardinals. They just gave up over 100 yards to the ground on 20 carries by Patriots’ running backs. So, Hubbard is still a solid playoff starter
SIT: D’Andre Swift (CHI)
The Bears will get their second crack at the Lions in Week 16. Swift’s last outing vs. Detroit didn’t go so well. He finished with just 39 yards rushing and 2 receptions for 39 more yards. The Lions are still one of the stronger teams in the NFL against RBs, so Swift’s value will continue to trend down toward the end of the season.
