🗞️ Week 13 Saturday News Drop
Fantasy-relevant stories from this week
Amon-Ra St. Brown Injury Update
Quick heads-up out of Detroit… Amon-Ra St. Brown’s tests confirmed a low-ankle sprain, but there’s no structural damage, and the early expectation is a pretty fast recovery. The timeline being floated is one to two weeks, though he’s already pushing to suit up next Thursday, which lines up with how he usually handles injuries. For fantasy, this is all about whether the Lions take the cautious route or let him play through it again. If you have Amon-Ra, stay alert: this could swing next week’s lineup either way.
Kenneth Walker Cleared for Week 13
Kenneth Walker was officially removed from the injury report and is full-go against Minnesota. He already played through the glute issue last week and clearly handled the lead role, and with Holani out, the backfield is only thinner. This matchup sets up perfectly for Seattle to lean on the ground game, so Walker locking in as an RB2 is huge if you’re fighting for playoff seeding.
Omarion Hampton Ruled Out Again
Omarion Hampton won’t play this week, and he showed up in a non-contact jersey today after not wearing one earlier in the week. Maybe it was precaution, maybe it was a setback, even Harbaugh gave a vague “he looked good” without committing to any return date. For fantasy, this just means Kimani Vidal gets the whole backfield against the Raiders, and he instantly becomes a top-20 play you can trust.
Pat Surtain Returns for Denver
Denver’s getting a big name back on defense… Pat Surtain is officially playing for the first time since Week 8. He’s expected to line up against Terry McLaurin on the perimeter, with both guys returning from injuries at the same time. For fantasy, this matchup suddenly gets a little trickier… McLaurin managers should temper expectations because this is not the corner you want your WR coming back against.
Tre Tucker Good to Go
And Vegas got one of their weapons back…Tre Tucker is good to go after clearing the injury report. He leads the team in targets but still disappears at times because this offense has been a mess, which is probably why they fired Chip Kelly and bumped Greg Olson back into the OC role. If you’re desperate, Tucker stays in that boom-bust FLEX zone… but at least with the coaching change, there’s a chance for a spark.
Baker Mayfield Trending Toward Playing
Some QB drama down in Tampa. Baker Mayfield is questionable, but he practiced fully Friday and the team expects him to play. It’s a left-shoulder AC sprain, not his throwing arm, so the main concern is more about taking hits than actually throwing. If he’s active, he’s still in that borderline QB1/2 mix, but the re-injury risk absolutely caps the ceiling. Plan accordingly if he’s your streamer this week.
Marvin Harrison Jr. Truly Questionable
And finishing up in Arizona, Marvin Harrison Jr. is questionable with an illness after three straight limited practices. He wasn’t able to get a full session in, and the team still seems unsure… though some beat reporters think he’s trending toward playing. If he’s active, you’re probably starting him. Keep an eye out Sunday morning.
