Buy these guys ahead of Week 8
Week 8 Trades
Here are 5 players that look like great buys going into Week 8 ⦠in two minutes or less.
|
QB: Caleb Williams (CHI)
Caleb Williams is exactly the kind of trade target you want to pounce on after a quiet week. He just posted his lowest passing yardage of the year against the Saints, but even then, he still ripped off multiple explosive completions and kept the Bearsā win streak alive. The thing is, that down game masks how much progress heās shown in this offense. Over the last month, heās led Chicago to four wins in five games, including a four-touchdown eruption against Dallas and another clean, composed outing against Washington. So if someone in your league is worried about last weekās box score, thatās your opening to buy low on a quarterback whoās settling in as a real difference-maker.
RB: Saquon Barkley (PHI)
Barkley has been stuck in a rut lately, logging five straight games under 60 rushing yards and fighting through nagging injuries, but the volume and talent havenāt gone anywhere⦠heās still holding onto one of the leagueās highest snap shares and handling a true workhorse role. The Eaglesā offense has looked sluggish over the past few weeks with surprising losses and uneven execution, so this is the exact kind of stretch that creates a buy-low window for an elite player before the breakout comes. Heās already flashed chunk plays and goal-line usage early in the year, and with that workload, itās only a matter of time before the box score catches up to the talent.
RB: Travis Etienne (JAX)
Travis Etienne is coming off two quieter games, with just 44 total yards in Week 7 after 55 in Week 6⦠but his role hasnāt gone anywhere. He still led the backfield in touches in both matchups, and the dip was more about game script than usage. Jacksonville got blown out early against the Rams, which forced them to abandon the run entirely. But thatās what creates the buy window: Etienneās still sitting on nearly 600 scrimmage yards and three scores through seven weeks, and aside from some noise from Bhayshul Tuten, he owns the clear runway as the lead back the rest of the way. So if someone in your league is frustrated by a couple of āmehā box scores, thatās your chance to get a locked-in RB1 at a discount.
WR: Rashee Rice (KC)
Rashee Rice just made his long-awaited return, and it didnāt take long for the Kansas City Chiefs to make it clear how much they missed him. He led the team with 10 targets and 7 catches in Week 7, finding the end zone twice in a dominant 31-0 win. But that was after a six-game suspension and a lost season to injury, so some managers might still see him as a question mark rather than a locked-in asset. So this is the perfect window to pounce: the Chiefs are heating up as an offense, and Rice is already back to being Patrick Mahomesā go-to option in the short game. If heās sitting on a frustrated managerās bench, this could be the cheapest heāll be all year.
WR: George Pickens (DAL)
Pickens might feel like a sell with CeeDee Lamb back, but his production isnāt going to dip nearly as much as people might think. He just posted 82 yards on six targets in a blowout win, right in line with his usage when Lamb was active earlier in the season. He no longer has to deal with the inefficiency and inconsistency of Pittsburghās offense, so even as the clear WR2 in Dallas, heās thriving as the vertical playmaker in an offense thatās rolling behind Dak Prescott. That perception dip is your window to get him at a discount⦠heās still a difference-maker in this attack.
So thatās the list. 5 players to pitch a deal for in the Week 8 trade market⦠as promised, in two minutes or less.
