STUD WR: Amari Cooper (CLE)

My pick for stud of the week called himself ā€œunguardableā€ after the game. Accurate.

He broke the Brownsā€™ all-time mark for yards in a game, going for 265 on 11 catches with 2 TDs. In beating Houston, he and Joe Flacco have their team soaring into the playoffs where it feels like the skyā€™s the limit. Amari himself is averaging over 25 yards per catch over the last 2 weeks, and is about ready to be called a 2023 league winner.

DUD WR: D.J. Moore (CHI)

I know he got banged up, but fantasy managers had to be disappointed with Mooreā€™s considering he was in a juicy matchup with Arizona with the fantasy finals on the line.

In exiting the game with an injury and coming back in later, he was only able to turn 3 receptions into 18 yards. We wanted so much more.

STUD QB: Derek Carr (NO)

Carr has been a solid fantasy QB for 2 straight weeks now, and he was downright heroic in the Saintsā€™ loss to the Rams on Thursday night. He threw for 319 yards and 3 TDs in the solid effort.

Carr may be a viable start yet again in the finals when he faces the vulnerable pass defense of the Buccaneers.

DUD QB: Patrick Mahomes (KC)

Just based on the results, Mahomes didnā€™t perform too badly but managers still were left wanting more after the Chiefs turned in another underwhelming performance against Las Vegas.

Mahomes threw a pick, had pedestrian yardage numbers, and generally couldnā€™t find much rhythm on Monday afternoon. He needs to do better to justify his fantasy football repuatation.

STUD RB: Breece Hall (NYJ)

Doesnā€™t it feel like weā€™re perpetually looking at the New York Jets and asking what could have been? Hall finally delivered a MONSTER return for fantasy managers in Week 16, going for 43.1 PPR points just one week after scoring just 2.8.

Iā€™ve said it before on Youtube and here, but the Washington defense is the gift that just keeps giving.

DUD RB: Devin Singletary (HOU)

I know he had a difficult matchup with Cleveland. I know he was the victim of a difficult game flow. But after stomping on Tennessee to the tune of 21 PPR points in Week 15 (without a TD!), you likely felt pretty good about slotting him into your playoff lineup. Instead you were left with a mere 44 rushing yards. Not good enough.

STUD TE: Chig Okonkwo (TEN)

It was a clean, efficient week for Chig in the loss against the Seahawks on Sunday. He caught all 6 of his targets for 63 yards and found the end zone to make the day worth it for fantasy managers and DFS backers. He ended up as the highest-scoring TE of the slate.

Chig will be in play again in Week 17 against the Houston Texans, who rank 26th against the position according to Fantasy Lifeā€™s convenient Defense vs. Position tool. Check it out on their website:

DUD TE: Trey McBride (ARI)

I know a lot of guys would be fine with 9.1 PPR points from the TE spot on the roster, but for the Cardinal who has emerged as a set-it-and-forget-it option, it wasnā€™t up to snuff. In fact, it was his lowest scoring output since Week 9, and it was the first time he failed to finish as a TE1 since that game as well.

You can likely still count on him against Philadelphia for your fantasy championship next week.

#5: WR Rashid Shaheed (NO)

Are you going to find many sure things on the wavier wire going into week 17? Not by a long shot. But Shaheed is as good a wheel spin as any if youā€™re looking for help with potential upside.

Shaheedā€™s 5 catches for 70 yards and a TD were plenty good enough to finish the week as a mid-range WR2, and his 9 targets from Derek Carr were 2nd on the team to just Chris Olave. If Carr has a good week, thereā€™s a good chance Shaheed can catch some balls downfield. Combine that with the fact that the Saints draw the Bucs in Week 17, and you have an enticing matchup for downfield WRs.

#4: QB Joe Flacco (CLE)

We have a number of QBs still out, so if youā€™re looking for help in a pinch then the old veteran might just be able to give you something in the championship round. At the very least he deserves to be in the conversation as a top-10 fantasy QB in 3 straight weeks.

Be careful though: a Thursday night matchup against the Jets isnā€™t the safest spot and in the case of a letdown youā€™ll be sweating it out all weekend.

#3: RB Tyjae Spears (TEN)

Heā€™s still second banana to Derrick Henry in the run game, earning just 9 carries to King Henryā€™s 19, but he was 2nd on the Titans in receptions in Ryan Tannehillā€™s return to action and that kind of work will pad his floor provided he can keep it up.

Spears actually finished as a RB2 in PPR formats this week, and thatā€™s enough to warrant a look on the wire.

#2: WR Demarcus Robinson (LAR)

Most tellingly, Robinson has a TD in 4 straight weeks and has established himself as a regular contributor in the sometimes crowded and confusing Ramsā€™ WR room. With the Giants on deck for LA, I expect having a piece of this attack isnā€™t the worst idea.

According to the utilization report from Fantasy Life, Robinson has been heavily involved in the offense in the last 4 weeks, coinciding with Staffordā€™s elevated play.
