Dallas Cowboys @ Buffalo Bills (-2)

Another game of the week with this level of star power should get us all excited. The Cowboys are absolutely rolling right now, as the only team in the NFL to score on more than half their possessions, and they’ve hit their implied team total in 7 straight games. Meanwhile, Buffalo has battled to right the ship and is battling for a playoff spot. They’re also top-5 in rate of drives to end up with points.

Fantasy Life’s game hub for this game shows us a couple of high-ranked offenses that should be able to push each other and create some fun football, both for fans of the game and DFS junkies like us.

While it might be tough to build a viable lineup around this game due to the status of some of the players, we sure can try. Let’s get into what we need to know about the most important guys for DFS.

QB: Dak Prescott (DAL)

As he continues his push for MVP, Dak gets to face a banged up Buffalo defense. They’ve struggled to keep teams from scoring lately, allowing a 5% TD rate over their last 6 games, which is 26th in the NFL. They’re allowing a 1st down or a TD on 33% of opponents’ pass plays, which is 22nd.

The one thing the Bills have done well recently is pressure the QB, but Dak sort of offsets that. Over the season, when pressured he’s got:

  • 63.9% completion rate (vs. 49.3% league average)

  • 8.4 yards per pass attempt (vs. 6.1 league average)

So even if Buffalo gets some pressure, I feel ok about a Dak Stack.

WR: CeeDee Lamb (DAL)

Who better to stack with Prescott than his number 1 guy, who is enjoying a career season of his own. Lamb has scored a TD in 5 straight games, and has been a fantasy WR1 in 6 of his last 7. The Cowboys love to move him all over the field to find those mismatches, and it works. He can produce from the slot or the outside.

Going back to Week 6, Lamb leads the NFL in:

  • Targets per game (12)

  • Receptions per game (8.6)

  • Receiving yards per game (111.9)

And the fact that he can line up in the slot is even more advantageous against the Bills, who rank 29th in the league allowing a 7.3% TD rate to slot WRs. Lamb leads the league in scores from the slot.

TE: Jake Ferguson (DAL)

Beyond Lamb, other Cowboys stack options are kind of a crapshoot. Brandin Cooks for example, is TD-or-Bust. But Ferguson is a nice TE option lately. He’s been a TE1 scorer in 5 of his last 7 games and 25% of the team’s red zone targets (4th among all TEs). So this is my second Cowboy option behind CeeDee.

RB: Tony Pollard (DAL)

We haven’t gotten to the upside we wanted from Pollard this season, but lately he’s at least been usable in DFS. In the last 3 games he’s had 19, 23, and 23 touches, which is a sharp increase from his early-season usage. Even then, he was replaced at the goal line for Rice Dowdle last week, so I don’t feel awesome about him.

Where Buffalo is stout against the run, they do allow some receiving production to opposing RBs (11.2 points per game). That’s where Pollard may make his bones in Week 15. It makes him more of a DraftKings play than a FanDuel one, due to the PPR points.

QB: Josh Allen (BUF)

Allen didn’t have his best game last week, but he did find the end zone on the ground and he did have a top-10 scoring week regardless. So he’s always a threat to get there, but we should at least be aware of the risks.

We know Dallas can rush the passer and that’s where Allen has struggled lately. Last week he was pressured on 48% of his dropbacks and completed a season-low 54.8% of his passes. The Cowboys can make him uncomfortable again.

WR: Stefon Diggs (BUF)

Is Diggs broken? He’s got single-digit PPR points in 3 of the last 4 games, all of which he’s been outside of the top 50 fantasy WRs. He hasn’t hit 100 yards in 7 straight games and he only had 25 in Week 14. Dallas has only allowed 2 guys to reach 100 receiving yards all year.

I’m not saying Diggs can’t get there, but he’s going to have to turn it around in a season where he’s averaging his lowest-ever yards per route run as a Buffalo Bill.

It makes for a really tough week for Buffalo receivers, especially considering it’s kind of tough to trust Gabe Davis as well.

Only 3 more of these Sundays after today. Cherish every second!
