Christian McCaffrey Update
Big news out of San Francisco… Christian McCaffrey popped up with a calf injury this week, but reports say he’s still expected to play in Week 1 against Seattle. He sat out Friday’s practice completely, though he insists he “feels great” and that the whole thing’s been blown out of proportion. For fantasy, it’s one of those situations you need to watch closely. If something changes last minute, you don’t want to be left scrambling since the 49ers don’t kick off until later in the afternoon.
Browns Finally Sign Judkins
Cleveland just locked up rookie running back Quinshon Judkins with a fully guaranteed deal. The Browns don’t plan to use him in Week 1 against the Bengals, but he could debut in Week 2. For now, Dylan Sampson and Jerome Ford will carry the load while Judkins waits out an ongoing NFL investigation. In fantasy terms, this means Judkins isn’t an immediate option, but his role could grow fast once he’s active. So, stash him if you’ve got the bench space.
Travis Hunter’s HUGE Role
The Jaguars are throwing Travis Hunter right into the fire as a full-time wide receiver in Week 1. They’ll also mix in some cornerback snaps, but the focus this week is clearly offense against Carolina. Coaches admitted they’ll figure out the exact balance as the season goes along. For fantasy, this is massive — Hunter’s usage could be unpredictable week to week, but the upside is sky-high if Jacksonville really leans on him as a true every-down receiver.
Micah Parsons Set to Play
Micah Parsons will suit up for the Packers’ opener against the Lions, but it won’t be a full workload. He’s been limited with a back issue, though the team is confident in his quick adjustment to the new defense. The Packers paid a massive price to land him: two first-round picks and a $188 million extension. So they’ll want him healthy long-term. For fantasy defenses, this means Parsons might not make his full impact right away, but he’s still the kind of player who can swing a matchup even on limited snaps.
Amani Hooker Gets a Deal
The Titans locked up safety Amani Hooker with a three-year, $48.6 million extension. He’s coming off a season with 71 tackles and five interceptions, easily his best yet. At just 27, Tennessee clearly sees him as a cornerstone piece for their secondary. For IDP fantasy players, Hooker’s stock just keeps rising, and this contract shows the Titans are going to keep him heavily involved.
Kyle Monangai Set to Play
In Chicago, running back Kyle Monangai is off the injury report and set to play Week 1 against Minnesota. Roschon Johnson is questionable, which could open the door for Monangai to see meaningful touches in his debut. The Bears also have injuries across the defense, with key DBs banged up and T.J. Edwards doubtful. For fantasy, Monangai is worth monitoring closely. If Johnson sits, he could carve out a role right away as a change-of-pace option.
Xavier Worthy Injured
It was a bad night for Kansas City. Not only did they drop their opener to the Chargers, 27-21, but Xavier Worthy left the game with a shoulder injury and didn’t return. He collided with Travis Kelce early in the game, got X-rays, and was ruled out. Early signs point toward a possible dislocation, but we won’t know for sure for a day or two. For fantasy, this is brutal. With Rashee Rice already suspended, the Chiefs are down to Hollywood Brown and Kelce as their top weapons.
Malik Nabers Ready to Go
Speaking of fantasy first-rounders, Giants star Malik Nabers has some back tightness, but Brian Daboll says he’ll be fine for Week 1. The team scaled him back at practice, but he’s not on the injury report and is still locked in as the WR1 against Washington. For fantasy, this is an easy one: you’re starting him everywhere.
Marvin Mims CLEARED for Takeoff
Marvin Mims has been cleared to play Week 1 against the Titans Daily News Items. He’ll slide in as Denver’s No. 2 behind Courtland Sutton, and after flashing elite efficiency last season, he’s got real upside. The Titans’ secondary is one of the softest spots in the league, making Mims a sneaky FLEX play.
Isaiah Likely OUT
Isaiah Likely won’t suit up against the Bills because of a foot injury. He missed the whole week of practice and could even hit IR soon if he doesn’t progress. For fantasy, this means he’s droppable in shallower leagues. Charlie Kollar steps in as TE2, but Mark Andrews is the only Baltimore tight end you want to start.
So adjust your lineups accordingly… as promised, in 2 minutes or less.
