Sunday News Drop
Fantasy’s biggest stories of the week … in two minutes or less.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba Questionable
Quick Seahawks note: Jaxon Smith-Njigba popped up late with an illness and is questionable for Week 3 vs the Saints. It’s the first we’ve heard of anything health-related, and he’s expected to go, but late-week tags can be tricky, so plan as if he’ll play and double-check status before kickoff.
Tucker Kraft is a Go
Green Bay tight end update: Tucker Kraft is expected to play against the Browns despite a knee issue. He hit the report Thursday, missed Friday, and drew a questionable tag, but the word is he’ll be available, which keeps one of Jordan Love’s trusted targets on the field in a tough matchup.
Jordan Mason to Get Plenty of Chances in Week 3
Minnesota backfield note: Ian Rapoport says Jordan Mason will be used “a lot” against the Bengals. With J.J. McCarthy and Aaron Jones likely out for a bit, Kevin O’Connell has voiced confidence in Mason as a potential lead option; volume looks strong even if efficiency could swing with the banged-up line, so he’s a start if you need touches.
Xavier Worthy Officially Out
Xavier Worthy is out vs the Giants and isn’t traveling with the team. He’s working back from a Week 1 shoulder dislocation and had some positive practice signs, and the team hoped a harness might get him back, but not this week; adjust your Kansas City stacks with the receiver room still thin due to injuries and a suspension.
Isaiah Likely ruled Out
Baltimore ruled out Isaiah Likely for Week 3 vs the Lions. He hasn’t played yet while dealing with a foot issue, so the tight end work continues to funnel to Mark Andrews with his next chance coming in Week 4.
Emeka Egbuka Practices Late in Week; Good to Go
Emeka Egbuka, dealing with a hip/groin issue, was spotted practicing on Friday. He’s now officially expected to suit up for the Week 3 matchup against the Jets. Even though he’s good to go, anything can happen before kickoff, so keep an eye out before you set lineups.
Derrick Henry Warns Opponents
Vibes are strong in Baltimore right now. Derrick Henry joked he hopes people keep calling DeAndre Hopkins “washed.” At 33, Hopkins has started hot with tough, contested scores, including 23- and 29-yard touchdowns in the first two games, plus another one-handed TD in Week 1; Lamar praised the mitts. Translation for fantasy: he looks trusted in tight windows and near the paint, which keeps him firmly in play if that usage sticks.
Evan Engram Ruled Out
Tight end note before the weekend. The Broncos ruled out Evan Engram for Week 3 against the Chargers due to a back issue. He didn’t practice all week and is coming off a calf concern as well. If you were stashing him, pivot to a healthier option on waivers—names like Dallas Goedert or Isaiah Likely were mentioned as alternatives.
Joe Burrow Officially Has Surgery
Joe Burrow had his scheduled foot surgery on Friday. The recovery window is around three months, which likely sidelines him for most of the regular season. If everything goes perfectly and the Bengals stay in it, there’s a late push possibility. For fantasy, plan like Burrow’s done. In Superflex/2QB, Jake Browning should already be rostered.
Chris Godwin Return Timeline
Good news for Tampa WRs…Chris Godwin trending better than expected—Week 4 is now a real shot for his ankle. That’d beat the earlier “Week 5 or later” expectation… and of course it helps that Mike Evans and Emeka Egbuka have carried the load. Remember, when Godwin played last year he was a volume machine (about seven catches for 80+ yards per game across seven). If you’ve stashed him, you’re close. He projects back into WR2 territory once he’s settled.
So keep your eye on the news as we approach kickoff… as promised, in 2 minutes or less.
