The best plays for the final regular season week
Week 14 Starts
Here are 5 guys with the best fantasy matchups this week and why they need to start … in two minutes or less.
|
QB: Dak Prescott (DAL) @ DET
Dak has been on an absolute heater lately. But Detroit’s pass defense has become one of the most generous units in football, ranking top-three in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks over the last four weeks. Meanwhile, Dak’s coming off back-to-back games of 320 and 354 yards with multiple touchdowns, dragging Dallas back into the playoff mix and leading scoring drives against two elite defenses in the Eagles and Chiefs. The Cowboys’ own game scripts have turned into shootouts… their defense constantly allows big production through the air, which keeps Dak throwing deep into games. So when you combine red-hot quarterback play with a matchup against a Lions secondary that keeps getting lit up, Dak becomes one of the easiest fantasy starts of the entire week.
RB: Chase Brown (CIN) @ BUF
Brown is rolling into this matchup in full command of the Bengals’ backfield. His efficiency has spiked just as the Bills’ run defense has fallen apart. Brown has topped five yards per carry in five of his last six games and is coming off 113 total yards and seven catches in Week 13 in yet another multi-phase performance. The Bills have allowed the 5th-most fantasy points to RBs and a league-leading 15 rushing touchdowns, so every touch Brown gets lands in a premium scoring spot this week. So with Burrow stabilizing the offense and Buffalo funneling production straight to running backs, Brown steps into Week 14 as a momentum-backed play who can smash right through this matchup.
RB: RJ Harvey (DEN) @ LV
Harvey’s efficiency has dipped lately but he’s still operating as Denver’s lead option with JK Dobbins on IR, and the usage has kept him fantasy-relevant even when the yardage isn’t pretty. And this matchup is exactly what you want: Las Vegas keeps getting pushed around, dropping five straight and allowing the 11th-most points to running backs while struggling to stay competitive week after week. Harvey just handled 16 touches last game and found the end zone twice, so this is the kind of spot where that workload can pop again against a defense that’s been a get-right opponent for everyone.
WR: Jameson Williams (DET) vs. DAL
The end of the season has been a perfect storm lining up for Williams. He’s been on a tear lately with multiple spike weeks, but the one thing that capped him before the Week 13 game was Amon-Ra dominating volume before getting hurt, which won’t be the case again this week. Dallas has been getting shredded by wide receivers all season… They've allowed the most WR touchdowns and sit near the top in fantasy points allowed to the position. So this matchup gives Williams a real shot to be the most dangerous receiver on the Week 14 slate. Detroit’s passing game will have to respond in what profiles as another Cowboys-style shootout, so the Lions leaning on their hottest downfield playmaker fits perfectly with how this game should unfold.
WR: Jakobi Meyers (JAX) vs. IND
Is Jakobi now Trevor Lawrence’s most reliable option? It would have seemed impossible to say before the season, or even just following the trade, but it seems to be so. He’s led Jacksonville in targets, catches, and yards for 3 weeks while stacking back-to-back touchdowns. And now with Parker Washington’s injury, Meyers is boosted even more. As for the Colts, they’ve been a prime matchup for wide receivers, giving up the 3rd-most fantasy points and a pile of receiving yards to the position this season. Meyers already has momentum and chemistry with Lawrence, so in a week where Indianapolis has consistently leaked production to WRs, he’s absolutely a start for Week 14.
So that’s the list. 5 players to put into lineups if you have them on your roster… as promised, in 2 minutes or less.
