Four RB Prospects

4 running backs who popped off at the NFL combine… in two minutes or less.

Jam Miller (Alabama)

Miller walked into the Combine needing juice, and left reminding everyone he’s built like an NFL back with real speed.

  • Ran a 4.42 at 209 pounds with a 1.53 10-yard split (2nd among RBs), showing size-adjusted burst.

  • Tested with elite straight-line speed and attacked drills with quick feet and explosive jump cuts.

  • Profiled as a downhill, physical runner with outstanding contact balance and only two fumbles on 350 career carries.

There are role limitations, but that blend of mass, speed and physicality likely locked in Day 3 interest with upside for more.

Emmett Johnson (Nebraska)

Johnson’s tape says vision and volume, and despite mixed athletic signals, he showed enough explosiveness to stay in the conversation.

  • 1,451 rushing yards and 46 receptions in 2025. That’s a true workhorse season with passing-game value.

  • Posted a 35.5-inch vertical, 10-foot broad and top shuttle numbers (4.29), flashing lower-body explosion and short-area quickness.

  • Hard-charging, north-south runner with soft hands and elite rushing grades over the past two seasons.

The straight-line speed was debated, but the movement skills and production keep him squarely on draft boards.

Eli Heidenreich (Navy)

Heidenreich may be the most unique weapon in this class, and his Combine confirmed he’s more than a gadget.

  • One of only three players in 70 years with 400+ rushing and 900+ receiving yards in a season.

  • Ran 4.44 with a 1.55 10-yard split (tied 3rd), backing up real dual-threat production.

  • Smooth route runner with outstanding hand strength and 51 catches for 941 yards in 2025.

If a team views him as a movable chess piece out of the backfield and slot, his stock is trending up fast.

Jadarian Price (Notre Dame)

Price didn’t break the stopwatch, but he may have quieted concerns about his receiving profile.

  • 674 yards and 11 touchdowns on just 113 carries in 2025… he showed a real nose for the end zone.

  • Ran 4.49 with a 35-inch vertical and 10’4” broad at 203 pounds.

  • Impressed in drills with footwork, reads and pass-catching flashes after limited college receiving usage.

He’s instinctive, smooth and productive, and even if the speed score debate lingers, his running talent keeps him firmly in the mix.

So that’s the list… Four prospective rookies who could be toting the rock for your favorite team in 2026.… as promised, in 2 minutes or less.

See you next time,

-Joe
