Keep up with the game alongside 52K+ Enjoyers of basketball.
STUD QB: C.J. Stroud (HOU)
Texans fans should be over the moon right now as they have the last team standing in their state and a rookie QB who can already get it done in the playoffs.
Stroud was terrific against the normally stout Brownsā defense on Saturday, throwing for 274 yards and 3 TDs in the big win. He spread the ball to 7 different receivers, but Nico Collins was the standout, with 96 yards and a TD.
DUD WR: Amari Cooper (CLE)
When the Browns played the Texans in Week 16, Cooperās stat line was absurd. He had 265 receiving yards and 2 TDs on 10 catches, so it was reasonable to expect him to produce again. It just didnāt happen. Houston held him to just 59 yards on 4 catches as Joe Flacco struggled to take care of the football.
STUD WR: Rashee Rice (KC)
It was difficult to predict how the passing would go on a night when Arrowhead Stadium had a āfeels likeā temperature of -27, but the cold didnāt seem to bother Rice one bit. He was sensational, with 130 yards and a TD.
All of that target share he was getting toward the end of the year, shown below in Fantasy Lifeās utilization report, was building to this. Suddenly the Chiefs look like a very tough out.
DUD QB: Tua Tagovailoa (MIA)
Tua just never looked comfortable in the cold Kansas City air. His throws lacked zip from the start, and with little support from his RBs he never really had a chance. Even the touchdown pass was more of a result of a highly athletic play by Tyreek Hill than anything Tua was able to do.
STUD RB: Aaron Jones (GB)
Where was this Aaron Jones in season-long fantasy football?
Jones was just one of the impressive Packers to ball out in Dallas along with Jordan Love and Romeo Doubs, but 21 carries for 118 yards and 3 TDs gets the nod in this spot here. The Pack suddenly looks like theyāll be around for a long time.
DUD QB: Dak Prescott (DAL)
His stats were padded by garbage time, but this was a huge letdown of a performance from Dak. The Cowboys were heavy home favorites and hadnāt lost a game in Jerryās World this year. Dakās picks were inexcusable, and helped Green Bay build an insurmountable lead. Itās time to wonder if the organization will want to stick with him after another early playoff exit.
STUD WR: Puka Nacua (LAR)
No player this weekend did more for his team in a losing effort than Puka. He was sensational against the Lions accounting for 181 of Matthew Staffordās 367 yards. Heās more than made a name for himself throughout this rookie season, and I canāt wait to see how he returns in 2024.
STUD WR: Amon-Ra St. Brown (DET)
Congratulations to the Lions, who won their first playoff game since the George Bush Sr. administration. Jared Goff deserves credit for sticking it to his old team, but Sun God was the most consistent player of the night for Detroit.
St. Brown couldnāt have possibly matched the statistical output of Nacua, but heās now one of the faces of a rising franchise, and the city of Detroit should be excited about the prospects.
STUD QB: Josh Allen (BUF)
It feels like years since the Bills were 6-6 and playing themselves out of the playoff picture. Josh Allen was at his peak on Monday accounting for 4 of his teamās TDs and never allowing the Steelers an honest shot at climbing back into the game.
Sign me up for Chiefs-Bills in the divisional round!
DUD RB: Najee Harris (PIT)
The game flow killed him a bit, but the Steelers were hoping from more from their talented workhorse back. Najee couldnāt really get anything going as he averaged just over 3 yards per carry on his way to just 37 rush yards. Jaylen Warren wasnāt much better.
STUD QB: Baker Mayfield (TB)
Bakerās impressive resurgence continued on Monday night. As the Bucs dominated the Eagles and put them out of their misery for the year, Mayfield threw for 337 yards and 3 TDs. He looked sharp with the ball all evening. He now gets a chance to face the Lions in Detroit next Sunday afternoon.
DUD RB: DāAndre Swift (PHI)
The Eaglesā running game just could not gain any traction in the matchup. As a team they rushed for just 42 yards, with Swift responsible for 34 of them. Philadelphia struggled heavily at the end of the season and that followed them into their playoff game. Time will tell if those struggles were just a blip or part of a more concerning trend.
