These players have tough situations this week

Week 8 Sits

Here are 5 players you should really consider sitting in fantasy this week … in two minutes or less.

QB: Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) @ ATL

Tua has completely fallen apart over the past two weeks, but this matchup makes things even worse. He’s thrown six interceptions in back-to-back ugly losses and even got benched late last Sunday, so there’s a real chance he doesn’t finish the game. The Falcons have quietly allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks all year and haven’t given up much to any position through the air. Miami’s offense is in free fall, the pressure is rising, and this defense isn’t the one to fix it against. Sit Tua with confidence this week.

RB: Rhamondre Stevenson (NE) vs. CLE

Stevenson finally flashed some life last week with a season-high 88 yards and a touchdown, but that came against a soft Titans front and a game script that tilted his way. The problem is Week 8 brings the exact opposite setup. Cleveland has allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing RBs and consistently forces teams to beat them through the air. New England’s offense has leaned on Maye more lately and this Browns front is built to choke out early-down volume, so Stevenson’s floor drops sharply here, making him a risky start in all formats.

RB: Jaylen Warren (PIT) vs. GB

Warren is coming off a huge Week 7 performance, but this is a classic spot where the matchup makes things tricky. He just ripped off 158 total yards and clearly reclaimed control of Pittsburgh’s backfield, but he now faces a Green Bay defense that’s allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to running backs and has been elite at shutting down backs who catch passes. Pittsburgh has leaned on Warren to keep their offense steady, so if the Packers’ front holds like it has all year, Warren’s ceiling could shrink fast, making him more of a desperation play than a locked-in starter.

WR: George Pickens (DAL) vs. DEN

Pickens has been productive this season, but his outlook for Week 8 is trending the wrong way. CeeDee Lamb’s return has already cut into his target volume, which won’t hurt too much long-term, but it matters against the Broncos. They’ve locked down opposing wideouts all year, allowing the fewest fantasy points per game to the position. Dallas can score in shootouts, but this matchup is no cakewalk, and his reduced role makes him far riskier to trust in fantasy lineups.

TE: Zach Ertz (WAS) @ KC

Ertz has flashed some red-zone chemistry with Jayden Daniels this season, but his production has been entirely touchdown-dependent, and he’s been far less effective when the Commanders aren’t chasing points. This week he faces a Chiefs defense that has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends, a unit that just blanked the Raiders and has been strong in coverage all season. Washington’s offense is already banged up and inconsistent, which limits scoring chances and target stability. So while Ertz can occasionally salvage a week with a short score, the matchup and game environment make him a risky, low-upside start.

So that’s the list. The players you shouldn’t rely on in Week 8… as promised, in 2 minutes or less.
