#5: WR - Jahan Dotson (PHI)

Multiple teams that looked deep at WR at the start of the season are starting to suffer the injury bug. The Rams already lost both of their stars, and the Eagles may have joined them. With A.J. Brown already out, DeVonta Smith was doing the heavy lifting for the Philadelpia offense. After a scary hit to the head took him out of the game on Sunday, Smith’s status is uncertain. His target share will have to go somewhere if he misses time, and Dotson looks like the best candidate. With Jalen Hurts throwing the football often, Dotson can boost your team, at least from the flex spot.

#4: QB - Sam Darnold (MIN)

Fantasy players are always chasing the newest shiniest toys to maximize advantages. But, what if all we need is a little more patience and trust in the veterans who have already been there? Darnold looks fantastic so far this season, throwing for 8 TDs to just 2 INTs, and maintaining a 117 QB rating. At the moment he’s a solid fantasy QB1, firmly ahead of players like Anthony Richardson, C.J. Stroud, and Patrick Mahomes, who were all high draft picks. If you whiffed on QB and want to strengthen the position, Darnold can be the guy to do it.

#3: TE - Cole Kmet (CHI)

Despite having a pretty good season in 2023, Kmet is currently rostered in less than 40% of leagues across the major fantasy platforms. Sunday’s game was good enough that he shouldn’t be eligible for this column next week. He caught 10 of his 11 targets for 97 yards and a TD in the loss to the Colts. That’s production that a lot of fantasy managers would like a piece of, with some other TEs underperforming in Week 3.

#2: RB - Braelon Allen (NYJ)

Allen is officially a top-25 fantasy RB, and it’s not solely due to his touchdowns. The Jets seem to want to legitimately manage Breece Hall’s workload, giving Allen 11 carries and 3 targets on Thursday night. Those 14 opportunities are significant next to Breece’s 21. It feels like the Jets really want to take advantage of Allen’s #1 juke rate and #4 breakaway run rate. You should too.
