Here are 5 players you should really consider sitting in fantasy this week … in two minutes or less.

RB: Rhamondre Stevenson (NE) @ MIA

Week 1 showed just how shaky Rhamondre’s role has become: only 15 rushing yards on seven carries while rookie TreVeyon Henderson nearly matched his workload and looked like the more explosive option. The Patriots’ line remains below average, and with Josh McDaniels dialing up a pass-heavy system built around Drake Maye, Stevenson’s efficiency and passing-down role are already trending down. The Dolphins just held Jonathan Taylor under 3.9 yards per carry even while giving up volume yardage, so Stevenson faces both a tough matchup and a shrinking role, making him a bench candidate in Week 2 lineups.

RB: Kaleb Johnson (PIT) vs. SEA

Johnson may have the size and early-down profile, but he’s not a reliable fantasy play this week. He handled just one carry in his debut while Jaylen Warren dominated passing-down work, and now he’s stuck in Arthur Smith’s slow, low-volume offense. The matchup doesn’t help either. Seattle’s defense just held San Francisco to 17 points while forcing two interceptions. Johnson might eventually carve out a bigger role, but for now, his limited usage and a tough environment make him an easy SIT this week.

WR: Calvin Ridley (TEN) vs. LAR

Calvin Ridley is locked in as Tennessee’s top target, but that’s not enough this week. He saw eight looks in the opener but turned them into just 27 yards, so efficiency was a real issue. Now he faces a Rams defense that just bottled up Houston and has the pass rush to disrupt a rookie QB. Ridley’s volume may look appealing, but tied to Cam Ward’s growing pains and a tough matchup, he’s better left on your bench this week.

TE: David Njoku (CLE) @ BAL

Njoku caught just three passes for 37 yards in the opener while Harold Fannin drew more touches, so his role is already under pressure. Cleveland’s quarterback situation is shaky, and now he faces a Ravens defense that thrives on limiting tight end production and plays at a higher level across the board. Njoku can still deliver spot weeks, but between the competition for targets and the matchup, he’s better left on your bench this week.

WR: Josh Downs (IND) vs. DEN

Downs’s per-catch efficiency can’t overcome his lack of touches. He caught just two passes for 12 yards in the opener, so volume clearly isn’t guaranteed in his slot role. The Colts’ offense is already crowded with Michael Pittman, Tyler Warren, and Alec Pierce, but now he also faces a Denver defense that just piled up six sacks and forced multiple turnovers in Week 1. Downs has long-term upside, but in this spot he’s better left on your bench.

So that’s the list. 5 players you shouldn’t rely on in Week 2… as promised, in 2 minutes or less.
