Players that are better off on your bench

Week 10 Sits

Here are 5 players you should really consider sitting in fantasy this week … in two minutes or less.

QB: Trevor Lawrence (JAX) @ HOU

Lawrence has mixed in some flashy games, but the underlying play has been shaky enough that now he has to walk into a Texans defense that’s allowed the fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks, so betting on him to carry you this week feels like forcing it into a brutal matchup. He just managed 220 empty passing yards with a pick against a beatable Raiders secondary while playing without Travis Hunter and then losing Brian Thomas mid-game, but that kind of thin, banged-up supporting cast isn’t what you want when the opponent is already suffocating passing games, so you’re basically hoping his legs bail you out again against a unit that hasn’t been giving anything away. Jacksonville’s offense still looks functional enough overall, but Lawrence is a desperation play for this spot, so in normal-sized leagues he belongs on your bench in Week 10 while you stream someone in a friendlier matchup.

RB: Jacory Croskey-Merritt (WAS) vs. DET

Jacory Croskey-Merritt has hit a wall after his early-season breakout. He’s averaged barely over 3 yards per carry across the last three games and has been game-scripted out of backfield work whenever Washington trails, which has been often lately. Now with Jayden Daniels hurt and Marcus Mariota likely under center, this already sputtering offense looks even more unstable. The problem is the matchup doesn’t bail him out… Detroit has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to running backs all year. Croskey-Merritt might still lead the team in touches, but the Commanders’ offensive collapse and the Lions’ top-tier run defense make him a clear sit for Week 10.

RB: Rachaad White (TB) vs. NE

Rachaad White’s short burst of midseason touchdowns masked how inefficient he’s actually been, and that’s catching up to him. He’s averaged barely three yards per carry in two straight games and just got stuffed five times inside the one-yard line before the bye. But the real problem this week is the matchup: New England has allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to running backs all year, and their front has been clamping down on early downs while forcing teams to throw. So even if White holds the lead job, this shapes up as a game where volume turns into empty touches, not points.

WR: Deebo Samuel (WAS) vs. DET

Deebo has gone cold just as the Commanders’ season has started to unravel. He’s managed only 11 catches across Marcus Mariota’s starts, and now Jayden Daniels’ injury leaves this passing game in chaos. Washington has been blown out in back-to-back weeks, and nothing about their offense looks functional right now. But the matchup makes things worse, with Detroit’s defense tightening up and ranking among the league’s stingiest overall. So even if Samuel gets touches near the line of scrimmage, the upside just isn’t there. You’re better off keeping him on your bench until this offense shows signs of life.

TE: Luke Musgrave (GB) vs. PHI

Luke Musgrave is a tempting option with Tucker Kraft sidelined, but this isn’t the breakout spot fantasy managers might hope for. Green Bay’s offense has been sluggish, managing just 13 points last week, and Musgrave hasn’t shown much consistency even when given snaps. The real issue, though, is the opponent: Philadelphia has allowed the third-fewest fantasy points to tight ends, routinely erasing the position from game plans. So while the opportunity is there, the matchup makes him a risky play who’s better left on the bench until we see more from this offense.

So that’s the list. The players you shouldn’t rely on in Week 10… as promised, in 2 minutes or less.
