No. 7: WR Zay Flowers (BAL)

On paper, the stat line looks terrific for a rookie going against a talented defense. 5 catches for 115 yards and a TD would be a great day for most guys in the AFC Championship. Unfortunately, Flowers also did some other things that directly led to his team’s demise on Sunday afternoon.

An ill-advised taunting penalty followed by a fumble through the end zone wiped a TD off the board for the Ravens and gave the ball back to Kansas City in what ended up being a 7-point loss. The young WR is talented, but he’ll have to learn composure going into next season.

No. 6: QB Jared Goff (DET)

Goff was largely considered the weakest QB from a DFS standpoint going into the weekend, but instead he walked out with the most passing yards of all 4 and no turnovers to show.

He completed passes to 7 different receivers on the day and did everything he could to lead his team back from the hole his coaches seemingly dug. In fact, the first time the Lions went for it on 4th down, Goff threw a pretty good ball under pressure that was dropped by his receiver.

There’s a case to be made that Goff played a better game passing than Brock Purdy and was not the reason the Lions missed their shot at the Super Bowl. Over the season, he had the 2nd-most yards and lots of other impressive stats, according to Fantasy Life.

No. 5: DST Kansas City Chiefs

On a day when the Chiefs’ offense could only manage 17 total points with none in the 2nd half, it was the defense that needed to step up if they had any hope of winning. They did that and then some.

The Ravens made some plays, but were also forced into 3 untimely turnovers which proved to be the big difference in the game. KC was able to sack Lamar Jackson 4 times and had 7 total QB hits. They ultimately kept this game out of reach for Baltimore.

No. 4: WR Brandon Aiyuk (SF)

He had just 3 catches compared to Deebo Samuel’s 8, and just 68 yards to Samuel’s 89, so why does he get the nod? Two reasons: he was the only player to catch a receiving TD from Brock Purdy, and he made one of the best hustle catches you’ll ever see when Detroit’s defensive back tipped the ball and Aiyuk dove to grab it out of the air for a 53-yard gain. That moment jolted the team back to life and started their furious comeback. For that, I’m recognizing Aiyuk here.

No. 3: RBs David Montgomery/Jahmyr Gibbs (DET)

One of the big questions heading into the NFC Championship was how much running room these teams were going to be able to find against each other. Montgomery and Gibbs both looked great, consistently finding the edge and moving the football against the strong San Francisco defense.

Montgomery was the weekend’s leading rusher with 93 ground yards, and both of these guys found the end zone, keeping their team in the game as much as possible.

No. 2: TE Travis Kelce (KC)

11 targets. 11 receptions. 116 yards. 1 touchdown.

Kelce continued his dominant streak and did more than his part in helping to get his team back to the Super Bowl. Kelce has been instrumental to the function of his team’s offense. Watching the game on Sunday made it clear that Kelce knows how to show up when it matters, and he should continue to do so in the big game.

We know Mahomes is going to look to him. The advanced passing statistics from Fantasy Life show he had more 1st downs this season than any other tight end.
