Rich Hribar and I meet up each week talking about the Sunday and Monday Night football slates. We discuss important players for fantasy football, including who could excel and who to stay away from. Check it out right here.
QB: Daniel Jones (NYG):
TREAD LIGHTLY HERE!
While Jones did have 7 weeks as a QB1 throughout last year, but they did not come in the 2 games vs. Dallas:
5.9 yards per attempt
56.9% completion rate
QB20 and QB19 finishes
Pressured on 54% of drop backs
Ouch.
I think Jones is set up for a nice year in season-long formats, but just be a little careful with this particular matchup.
RB: Tony Pollard (DAL):
Pollard is going to have a ton of touches this year. Even when Ezekiel Elliott played, Tony had 16.3 touches per game. He has 13 career games with 15 or more, and averages:
19.6 PPR points
113 scrimmage yards
13 total TDs (1 per game)
The Giants were fairly poor against running backs last year, particularly against Dallas. They allowed Cowboy backs to gain 330 yards on 62 carries (5.3 YPC), and a pair of TDs.
TE: Darren Waller (NYG):
The Giants have sort of a hodgepodge WR group, which really brings Waller and his new role into focus.
In his 8 total preseason routes, he was targeted on 4 of them.
The Giants are underdogs this week and will likely have to throw the ball, which sets the table nicely for the athletic TE.

For Sunday Night, Reebs and I love this 2 player combo pick:
• Tony Pollard MORE THAN 69.5 rush yards
• Darren Waller MORE THAN 51.5 receiving yards
QB: Dak Prescott (DAL):
Something to watch here is how Dak plays against the blitz. The Giants, under Don Martindale, blitz like mad. They sent someone on a league-high 45% of drop backs last season when the league average was 26.2%.
They blitzed Dak on Thanksgiving at a ridiculous 58% of plays, keeping his passing numbers down and forcing 2 INTs. If he can take care of the football a little better, he can find success.
WR: CeeDee Lamb (DAL):
I think you can safely play CeeDee in your lineups this week, and the same goes for new teammate Brandin Cooks.
The Giants will blitz and play a lot of man coverage. They have two rookies playing cornerback, who seem like they may have their hands full with these veteran playmakers.
Lamb is about as elite as they come.
RB: Saquon Barkley (NYG):
Saquon is another stud who’s coming into this year with a chip on his shoulder. He’s in the best shape of his life.
Last year he was a volume guy, even if his efficiency wasn’t always there. He was 3rd in the league in touches and gave the Giants offense a spark most weeks. He is a totally viable start.
He even led all RBs in snaps last year, according to the tool from Matthew Berry’s Fantasy Life:
BONUS BET for Sunday Night Football:
Reebs and I both like DALLAS at -2.5. They’re a lot more talented than the Giants and if we can get this at under a field goal, we’ll take it.
Don’t think Reebs and I stopped at Sunday Night! We also took a closer look at the Monday Night Football game between the Jets and Bills.
QB: Aaron Rodgers (NYJ):
What will the new-look Jets really look like?
The answer to that one starts with Rodgers, who has seemed relaxed and happy to be there on “Hard Knocks” this offseason.
The Jets had a very strong defense last season, allowing teams to score TDs on just 15.2% of their drives. They just had no offense to punch back. Aaron hopes to change that and challenge the Bills in the AFC East.
QB: Josh Allen (BUF):
How will Allen fare against these Jets? They shut him down fairly well last year, as the Bills scored a TD on just 18.2% of their possessions vs. the Jets, while scoring at a 29.2% clip vs. literally everyone else.
His ability to respond vs. these division rivals will go a long way in determining how the division shakes out.
WR: Garrett Wilson (NYJ):
The Rookie of the Year finally has a new QB, and he looks ready to rise into the elite tier of WRs.
In last year’s campaign, he had the 4th-highest rate of targets deemed uncatchable balls by the QB. That will certainly change with Rodgers. Plus, he may have to take targets, as many of the other Jets WRs are dealing with injuries and being banged up.
WR: Stefon Diggs (BUF):
We already discussed how Josh Allen struggled vs. the Jets last year, and Diggs was affected by that.
New York’s defense allowed the fewest yards per game to opponents’ WR1s in ‘22, at just 51 per game, although Diggs did have 93 against them in one of the matchups.
Still, he’s the main guy on that team.
TE: Dalton Kincaid (BUF):
What makes Kincaid interesting is that the Jets did show some vulnerability to the TE position last year.
27% of completions against the Jets were to TEs, the highest rate in the league. Since Sauce Gardner and co. are so good against WRs, Kincaid may get a nice boost.
Reebs and I looked at some PrizePicks projections for Monday Night Football, and this is what we came up with.
• Garrett Wilson MORE THAN 69.5 receiving yards
• Gabriel Davis LESS THAN 48.5 receiving yards
Bonus Bet for Monday Night Football:
It isn’t terribly exciting, but we like the game to finish UNDER the total of 46.5 points. With two respectable defenses, and the two matchups coming in way under last season, it’s the play.
All first time users that deposit and use Promo Code: JHS100 will receive a 100% instant deposit match up to $100.
