Zack Moss (CIN), ADP 98.7, RB28

No one benefitted from the Jonathan Taylor contract drama more than Zack Moss. He proved he could handle a full workload in Taylorā€™s absence, and the Bengals took notice. Moss was RB18 or better in 6 of his first 7 games, dominating the Coltsā€™ early-season snaps. So, if he can carve out a similar role with Cincinnati, heā€™ll be a fantasy asset once again.

Moss showed value in the red zone with his 44 touches, ultimately scoring 7 touchdowns for the Colts. But heā€™ll face some backfield competition with Chase Brown, a second-year talent from Illinois. So far, reports from Cincinnati suggest Moss will be their starter and primary guy. Playing in an offense alongside Joe Burrow should be a net positive for Mossā€™s game, allowing him to shine for your fantasy team.

Heā€™s worth it as an 8th-rounder and could return RB2 numbers.

Jonathon Brooks (CAR), ADP 91.2, RB25

Brooks excelled in 10 games for Texas in 2023, racking up 1,425 yards from scrimmage and showcasing a skill set that translates well to the NFL. Heā€™s a 3-down talent who can contribute in various ways. The Panthers still have Chuba Hubbard and Miles Sanders on their roster, but neither made much noise in 2023. So, Brooks is projected to take over the starting job fairly early for the rebuilding franchise.

Head coach Dave Canales was brought into Carolina specifically to help a struggling offense, and heā€™s done so at his previous stops. The team bolstered the offensive line in free agency and drafted a few explosive skill players to improve the situation around Bryce Young. Plus, the Panthers currently have the 3rd easiest running back schedule according to Fantasy Pros.

It looks as though Brooks wonā€™t be ready to start the season right away as he heals from his ACL surgery. But as a stash candidate, there's a solid chance heā€™ll help you as the season progresses.

Jaylen Warren (PIT), ADP 87, RB23

If last year was any indication, Warren is ready to shake off his designation as the handcuff to Najee Harris. He was a beast in 2023 at evading tacklers, with Fantasy Life ranking him 4th in the league in broken tackles, amidst backs being drafted multiple rounds earlier. So, I have a hunch heā€™ll continue to earn more work even if his skill set overlaps with Najee Harrisā€™s a bit.

Harris kept a slight edge last season in total snaps and carries, but Warren outshined him in the passing game, getting a great deal more targets per route and a greater overall target share. With Najeeā€™s efficiency numbers declining each year, Warren should be the better draft pick.

Whatever went wrong with the Steelersā€™ offense last season, the team is hoping the new QB room can help fix it. With that, Warren becomes an intriguing pickup for fantasy purposes. If he falls to the 9th round, he could be an intriguing target.

Zamir White (LV), ADP 88.2, RB24

I know Iā€™ve written about White a lot lately, but heā€™s one of my favorite breakout candidates this season. The training wheels are finally off, and his opportunity share alone should provide encouragement.

Starting in Week 15 last season, when he took over the starting role, White was a top-20 running back every week in PPR formats. But Alexander Mattison and Ameer Abdullah sit behind White on the depth chart, and neither has proven to be a consistent every-down back. So, the Raiders fed him the ball for totals of 20, 22, 25, and 26 touches over those final four games, which should be a preview of how things will go in 2024.

Whiteā€™s current ADP is somewhere in the 7th round, which is a nice draft price for a guy who projects to get so much work.
