We’re down to just FIVE Sundays until we’re placing bets on the couch all afternoon!

Today in 5 minutes or less, you’ll learn:

  • Who steps up during Kamara’s suspension 🪜

  • Long-term prospects of a young Dolphin 🐬

  • This year’s Jamaal Williams in Buffalo? 🚨

  • Fantasy player news from around the league 🏈

Kendre Miller (NO) ADP 143.9, RB47:

With the news about Alvin Kamara’s 3 game suspension coming down on Friday, Miller was a perfect fit for this column.

The kid was a workhorse for TCU in 2022, rushing for 1,399 yards on a whopping 224 attempts and scoring 17 times.

It earned him a 23% dominator rating.

He has some good size on him at 215 lbs, and does have some receiving skill, even though it wasn’t his forte in school.

And those first three games are against the Titans, Panthers, and Packers. None of them really get me too worried about game flow or usage for the RBs while Alvin is out.

But is Miller’s value limited to flex plug-in for the first 3 weeks?

I think there’s solid sleeper potential, and it has more to do with Kamara’s declining efficiency:

  • 49th in juke rate

  • 48th in breakaway run rate

  • 46th in true yards per carry

Basically, it took the no. 1 snap share and the no. 4 opportunity share for Kamara to finish as PPR RB16.

It’s not getting better after another year and suspension.

So in terms of late-round fliers or dynasty picks, we may have something going here for New Orleans.

Saints teammate Derek Carr is under center now.

He threw 24 TDs in 15 games for the Raiders last year, and now joins a Saints squad with a deeper set of skill guys.

I think as long as he stays healthy, he will surpass his PrizePicks mark of 23.5 TDs.

Devon Achane (MIA), ADP 100.4, RB35:

Assuming Miami does not sign one of the veterans on the market, Achane should be able to earn playing time within the stable of Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr.

For one, he’s got elite speed.

He was the Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year for Texas in 2020, and ran the 4th-fastest 40 yard dash at the NFL combine among all RBs in league history (4.32).

So far, Dolphins coaches have spoken about utilizing that blazing speed in the right ways and making sure Achane develops the necessary skills to become a star.

But it isn’t ONLY about his speed. The kid can play.

In ‘22, he rushed for 1,102 yards on 196 attempts (5.62 avg) and handled a 12.3% target share for Texas A&M.

Overall in the last 2 seasons, he caught 60 passes for 457 yards.

And then there’s his All Time performance vs. LSU. That’s when he rushed 38 times for 215 yards and 2 TDs.

Time will tell how much Achane can chip in for Miami early on, but I think he can carve out a role and provide a fantasy ROI.

Damien Harris (BUF), ADP 108.4, RB38:

James Cook is still my best bet for Buffalo backs, but if you’re looking for TD upside late, Harris can provide it.

His deal with Buffalo is a one-year “prove it” type, which will encourage him to continue his hard-running style.

So, what do I like about him?

First off, he was hobbled for a lot of the ‘22 SZN, but he still boasted the no. 8 juke rate (35%).

Back in ‘21, he was a beast for New England and fantasy football teams. He cracked the top-10 in:

  • TDs (15)

  • Rush yards (929)

  • Breakaway run rate (6.9%)

He was also 12th in red zone touches that season, which is his expected specialty with the Bills.

In ‘22, Devin Singletary got 40 RZ touches (13th), but only scored 6 total times. Harris can improve on that efficiency.

If he does, he’ll be well worth the pick.

He may even become this year’s Jamaal Williams.
