Winning on DraftKings isn't easy...

So we did 75% of the research for you.

17 of the “Top DFS Picks” in Week 9:

Each week, @allinkid (http://theathletic.com) and I discuss the "Locks of the Week."

The players you need exposure to if you want to win big.

Check it out.

QB: Josh Allen (DK $8,500 - FD $9,300):

Nice to have him back on the slate.

Expensive, but he's in the upper echelon.

This is like Christian McCaffrey, Saquon Barkley, Cooper Kupp.

As Jake likes to say, you have permission.

Whether or not the Jets D is good, they do get pressure.

Allen has a .21 EPA per drop back under pressure (1st in league).

Know who's second?

Tua Tagovailoa... at .02!

Not worried about him here.

Tua Tagovailoa... at .02!

Not worried about him here.

The fact is, Fields is playing better ball.

If we can get a line around 60 rush yards, 200 pass yards and a TD? Golden.

Especially for a pay-down candidate.

Anyone else to discuss?

QB: Aaron Rodgers (DK $5,900 - FD $7,000):

We'd be remiss if we didn't mention the Detroit Lions Defense.

It could be Aaron's F-U game.

But what we've seen so far just isn't there.

More on this matchup later.

RB: Austin Ekeler (DK $8,800 - FD $9,400):

Lots to like here, even at high cost:

• Atlanta is the opponent

• Keenan Allen isn't expected back yet

• 27.9% of Justin Herbert's throws don't reach the line of scrimmage

Good pick, even if rush output is low.

RunTheSims has Ekeler as the 2nd highest optimal rate player,

On BOTH FanDuel and DraftKings.

RB: Travis Etienne (DK $6,300 - FD $7,600):

He's finally getting bell cow work.

And he's facing the Raiders.

Not much else to say...

Let's get to the next guy.

RB: Aaron Jones (DK $7,400 - FD $7,800):

Here's that Lions matchup again.

Yep, he has weeks with low output, but we like him for the big ones.

Also, A.J. Dillon hasn't panned out like so many of us thought.

Right now, it's Jones and 2 GB WRs.

And Allen Lazard may sit…

The PrizePicks lines for rush yards (65.5) and rush+rec yards (93.5) are way too low for Jones at the moment:

Grab them ASAP before they fix it.

WR: Romeo Doubs (DK $5,300 - FD $6,100):

This is a good week to stack Packers.

If we don't get Lazard, Doubs can still get it done,

Especially vs. DET's man coverage.

Volume and team target share both there.

WR: Joshua Palmer (DK $5,100 - FD $6,200):

Good price if you can't pay up for Ekeler.

In fact, he's in play even if Keenan Allen returns. Why?

He's the perimeter guy. More of a Mike Williams fill-in than an Allen one.

Start him regardless.

WR: Tee Higgins (DK $7,300 - FD $8,000):

Panthers give up big plays to no. 1 WRs seemingly every week.

Their offense is keeping pace lately too.

It spells a good matchup for Higgins…

We know Tee has no. 1 upside. He outscored Ja'Marr Chase a few times.

The price isn't prohibitive, either.

This week it's him and Tyler Boyd.

We love the potential in Week 9.

TE: Gerald Everett (DK $4,800 - FD $5,800):

Looking elsewhere in the Chargers game, Everett could take care of TE for you.

Herbert needs someone to trust in the RZ and in the end zone.

Thin at options here, Everett is set up.

TE: Evan Engram (DK $3,300 - FD $5,200):

He should be more expensive. Look at his catches/yards the last few games:

• 6-69,

• 5-40

• 4-67

• 4-55-1

That score really put him over the top.

That output again at $3,300 would be a rock solid LOCK.

The Locks are just the start.

You also need to know the guys to target for tournaments.

Players who are overlooked.

I spoke with @TJHernandez (http://4for4football.com) about Week 9.

Here's what we came up with:

QB: Kyler Murray (DK $7,400 - FD $8,200):

We're talking creating leverage with lesser-owned guys.

People are paying up for Josh Allen, or down for guys like Aaron Rodgers.

So why Murray?

Well, Arizona has a decent implied total.

They and Seattle are top-10 neutral pace.

Since DeAndre Hopkins came back, Kyler has improved.

(In fact, they make a good skinny stack).

If the Bills don't go nuclear, Murray could keep you ahead of the field.

RB: Dalvin Cook (DK $7,800 - FD $8,500):

It seems like a strong RB week.

Cook has the ceiling vs. Washington.

He's in a lull range in ownership, too.

Let's think about game flow…

Minnesota:

• Is favored in this game

• Runs a lot of plays each week

• Don't typically throw deep a lot

Dalvin will have touches near the goal line.

And 6 targets last week, so a rising upside.

Price tag will help your unique build.

WR: Davante Adams (DK/FD $8,100):

Adams didn't burn the Saints last week, but he did burn the GPP Bros.

Will they go back to him?

TJ seems to think not…

Las Vegas's overall passing game is making people nervous.

But he's the only guy at his price range projected with single-digit ownership.

He also give leverage over this game's RBs.

Why else will the metrics be skewed?

Before last week, Adams had 3 straight 95+ yard games (2 were over 100).

The Raiders won't let him have another 1-catch outing. He's too good.

Doesn't hurt that Darren Waller has been limited in practice, either.

Speaking of this game's TEs…

TE: Foster Moreau (DK $3,200 - FD $5,400):

He'll see some ownership this week if Waller can't go.

However, TJ's GPP pick is…

TE: Evan Engram (DK $3,300 - FD $5,200):

Over the last month:

• 2nd in targes

• 6th in target share

• 3rd in air yards per game

• 4th in expected fantasy points per game

And the Raiders Defense?

Outside the top-20 in expected points allowed to every fantasy position.

DEF: Vikings (DK $3,500 - FD $4,500): w

We aren't fans of paying up JUST for the sake of being contrarian.

But this is an ok spot for it.

You may even get some leverage pairing with Cook.
