Part 1:

It's been an interesting three weeks.

What players do we want to target going into Week 4?

DraftKings Locks w/ @allinkid 👇

QB: Jared Goff ($5,900 on DraftKings):

We never talk about him.

But they finally got the pricing right with our guy Jalen Hurts ($8,200) this week.

So let's take a closer look at Goff…

Goff can be reasonable if he has weapons, time, and protection.

We've seen it with the Rams.

Paying down for a QB hasn't been super effective, though.

And there are a few variables here.

Neither Amon-Ra St. Brown nor D.J. Chark practiced this week (through Thursday).

If they're both out, then back off.

Overall though...

Seattle provides a nice matchup, so Goff can make a difference for cheap.

We could find a way to pay up for guys like Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen this week,

but we could do worse than look at:

QB: Justin Herbert ($7,100 on DraftKings).

A Chargers WR could always go off…

Keenan Allen ($6,500) left practice early Thursday. If he doesn't play,

SMASH Mike Williams ($7,000).

It's an interesting game for sure.

Speaking of WRs…

WR: Curtis Samuel ($5,700 on DraftKings):

We were reluctant on Samuel after Week 1.

But he's getting more of Carson Wentz's attention than Terry McLaurin.

We're also betting Trevon Diggs will be covering McLaurin,

Leaving Samuel to do some work.

In fact…

Samuel is a top-6 player in RunTheSims.

He was in optimal lineups 12.8% of the time over 10,000 simulations.

Last note on Samuel:

He's around the same price as Brandin Cooks this week.

I took some heat for fading Cooks in summer.

But he's no longer a good value.

WR: CeeDee Lamb ($6,700 on DraftKings):

It looks like we're chasing points here.

Not quite.

Remember, Lamb dropped a TD last week.

It could have made his day so much sweeter.

We know Washington plays poor defense.

They have the 5th-worst passing defense.

They're already low on talent, and they're banged up.

CeeDee is set up nicely.

You know who isn't set up so nicely?

WR: DK Metcalf ($6,800 on DraftKings):

Last time Metcalf topped 64 receiving yards was Week 7 of last season. Yikes.

Now he draws Jeff Okudah at CB.

It'll be tough going.

Here's how to take advantage:

PrizePicks has Metcalf's O/U set at 62.5 receiving yards.

It's an easy under pick for me.

What do you think?

RB: Khalil Herbert ($5,700 on DraftKings):

He looked great coming in for David Montgomery.

He actually may be the more talented guy.

Chicago faces the Giants, who just let up two RB1 performances...

In the SAME GAME.

That includes a washed up Ezekiel Elliott.

...Maybe take Khalil even if Montgomery plays.

RB: Jamaal Williams ($6,100 on DraftKings):

He looked darn good vs Minnesota.

It feels like D'Andre Swift will be out for the next few weeks.

Seattle's poor run defense is what puts Williams in the lock column.

TE: David Njoku ($3,700 on DraftKings):

If we know one thing about Jacoby Brissett, it's that he'll funnel targets to TEs.

He targets that position 30% of the time.

We like Njoku more than Zach Ertz ($4,400) this week.

Why?

Ertz doesn't have a great matchup, and lacks that true connection with Kyler Murray.

Will anyone own Evan Engram ($3,400)?

He could actually be in play.

Dropped a TD last week that would have shifted his ownership up.

If Philly D keys on WRs, Engram has a shot.

Part 2:

Week 4 is shaping up like an unbelievable tournament slate.

It's time to get weird.

Here's the Top Tournament plays from my conversation w/ @JMToWin 👇

QB: Josh Allen ($8,400 on DraftKings):

This is an interesting game.

Should people pay up for it?

Consider:

• QB gets best returns on investment

• QB ownership never gets out of hand

Conclusion? I'm ready to pay for it this week.

The tough part is deciding on a stack.

Stefon Diggs ($8,400) is too expensive to pair.

Gabriel Davis ($6,600) is worth a look.

He could maximize roster upside for tournaments.

Maybe even spike with 10 or 11 targets.

What if we don't want to pay up for Allen?

QB: Geno Smith ($5,400 on DraftKings):

We love to attack those Lions, and Seattle is 12th in offensive DVOA.

Despite that, Geno may have low ownership.

It could unlock your roster, especially with…

WR: Tyler Lockett ($5,900 on DraftKings):

We think DK Metcalf will be locked up with Jeff Okudah.

It raises the ceiling on the Lockett-Geno single stack.

Big points from both are conceivable.

WR: D.J. Moore ($5,300 on DraftKings):

JM calls him a DFS darling.

People sort of love him, so his ownership soars some weeks.

Christian McCaffrey could be a popular play this week.

If so, Moore will steal value.

He's been a top-10 WR in terms of yards the last two years.

With pretty horrible QB play.

We like him this week...

If he doesn't get gassed up by Sunday.

RB: Saquon Barkley ($8,000 on DraftKings):

The position's been ugly so far.

We need to find the guy that can pop.

Chicago hasn't been great against the run,

So Saquon can be that guy.

Looking for a lower price point?

RB: Khalil Herbert ($5,700 on DraftKings):

Especially if David Montgomery is out.

However, Herbert might actually be over-owned this week.

So we may need to look elsewhere…

RB: Cordarrelle Patterson ($6,500 on DraftKings):

Kyle Pitts, Drake London, and even Marcus Mariota at a value will get love this week.

C-Patt will be overlooked.

He's older, but it's early in the year,

and Arthur Smith wants to use him.

In terms of this matchup, it's a good one.

Both teams are top-8 in offensive DVOA and bottom-8 in defensive DVOA.

With injuries on the Cleveland side, the point total is soaring.

Patterson can get you the points you need.

TE: Pat Freiermuth ($4,200 on DraftKings):

The Steelers run a lot of plays. They're at the top of the league in pace of play.

Freiermuth didn't get the targets last week,

but the looks are coming.

TE: T.J. Hockenson ($4,100 on DraftKings):

Detroit likes to make plays over the top.

With Amon-Ra unlikely to play as of Thursday, Hockenson will be the guy there.

It's ok to pay up at TE this week,

but if you can't, these guys will do it.

Defense: Cowboys ($3,500 on DraftKings):

All their opponents talk about their ferocious pass rush.

In Dallas, the game will be loud.

It will be chaotic.

It will be tough for Washington.

Big D could be Top D in Week 4.
